Energy House 2.0 is a UK-based science initiative which aims to help housebuilders in reducing carbon emissions, conserving energy, and combating climate change. It was launched last month.

Here are three key points:

  • Energy House 2.0 is situated in a facility resembling a massive warehouse on the Salford University campus near downtown Manchester.
  • Rain, wind, sunshine, and snow can be generated in temperatures ranging from 40 to -20 degrees Celsius using a control center.
  • The researchers involved in the project attempted to recreate the meteorological conditions that would be experienced by 95 percent of the world’s population.
